Flickering firelight instantly creates warmth and ambiance. Electric fireplaces make instant ambiance possible in rooms where you wouldn’t expect to find fireplaces, such as kitchens, bathrooms and home offices.
The nice thing about electric fireplace inserts is that no venting is required; you simply plug and play. Remote controls let you manage the fire from afar. Some fireplaces even play music from hand-held and streaming audio devices.
Let’s take a closer look at three electric fireplace inserts and three electric linear fireplaces, all manufactured locally in Mukilteo, WA by our friends at Fireplace Xtrordinair (FPX).
Electric Fireplace Inserts
38 EI Electric Insert
Perfect for a bedroom or living room, the 38EI heats up to 400-500 square feet. Customizable design options include accent fire rocks, multi-color flame backdrops, and four levels of front and back lighting.
Fireplace Xtrordinair’s smallest-sized insert will fit most fireplaces and comes with a black glass panel that is 38 x 25 inches and a glass viewing area of 23 3/4 x 9 1/2 inches.
40 EI Electric Insert
Transform your inefficient, open fireplace into an elegant source of heat with the 40EI. This mid-sized insert heats 400-500 square feet and fits most fireplaces.
It comes with a sophisticated black glass panel that is 40x 26 inches and a glass viewing area of 26 ¾ x 11 ½ inches.
Three translucent stone colors, multi-color flame backdrops, and three Shadow Box finishes are some of the changeable features the 40EI insert offers.
42 EI Electric Insert
The 42EI is the largest-sized insert. It provides a long-lasting warm glow that can reach up to 400-500 square feet. It comes with a black glass panel that is 42 x 30 inches and a glass viewing area of 29 ¾ X 11 ¾ inches.
This model also includes changeable features, including three translucent stone colors, multi-color flame backdrops, and three Shadow Box finishes.
Electric Linear Fireplaces
Linear fireplaces create a focal point in a living room, dining room, bedroom or den because they offer a wide fire viewing area. These versatile electric fireplaces harmonize well with almost any kind of décor and can be recessed into a wall or mounted.
51 EF Electric Fireplace
The 51EF Electric Linear Fireplace offers a large, linear fire viewing area surrounded by a sleek black 21 inch tall glass panel that compliments its unique flame effect.
The 51EF features colored perimeter accent lighting that encompasses the unit and is lit from behind the black glass panel. The accent lighting can be adjusted to multiple color settings and gives off a radiant glow.
The 51EF can be mounted on any wall or recessed into any wall. A 1,500 watt heater provides supplemental warmth and helps heat up the room.
64 EF Electric Fireplace
The 64EF is wider than the 51EF, at 58 inches as opposed to the 51EF’s 43 inches.
Here is a video that demonstrates how to use the remote to control the mood lighting on these fireplaces.
115 EF Electric Fireplace
With a massive 103 inches of fire viewing area, the 115EF offers the greatest amount of fire view of any electric fireplace. The long row of dancing flames creates a dramatic focal point in any large room, especially when illuminated by the glow of its perimeter accent lighting.
Despite its extra-large size, the unit has a depth of only 5 ½ inches so it can easily fit flush into any wall for a finished look. This electric fireplace features a 1,500 watt heater that adds supplemental warmth to the room and creates a comforting ambiance.
