10 Tips for Choosing Bar StoolsBy JHCadmin, October 18, 2010If you're looking to replace your old rickety bar stools with beautiful new ones, now's your chance. At Rich's, we're liquidating our entire inventory of bar stools, and almost every bar stool we have in stock is up to 50% off. Before you shop for a new set of bar stools, you'll want to do a bit of homework. Here's a checklist to help you plan your bar stool expedition to Rich's:1. Decide what height you need. Bar stools come in several standard heights:-Counter height -Bar height -Chair height -Vanity height -Spectator height -Hydraulic (adjustable from 24 ½ to 32 ½” – hair salon chair)2. Wood vs. upholstery. If you purchase a stool with a wood seat, the height will likely be a tiny bit lower than a stool with an upholstered seat.3. Measure the area in which the bar stools will be located, so you're aware of the maximum width and depth of space you must allow for each stool. Don't forget to allow for space between stools.4. Arms. Consider whether you'd like your stools to have arms. If your stools will be stationed under a kitchen eating bar, measure its height from the floor to ensure that the bar stools' arms will fit beneath the countertop.5. Do you prefer backless stools, or stools with backs?6. Swivel or stationary stools?7. Materials: Wood, iron, or brushed steel?8. Style: Traditional, contemporary, Colonial, Pub, Country, or Designer style?9. Will you be using your bar stools Inside or outside? Do they need to do double-duty, perhaps? If you're using your stools outside or seasonally, consider where you're going to store them during the off-season.10. What colors will best complement the color scheme of the room in which you'll use your bar stools?Rich’s carries bar stools from three manufacturers: Pastel, Bermex, and Lawrenceville. We have dozens and dozens of stools on display on our showroom floor, and they're going fast.
