RICH'S FOR YOUR HOME
My sister Ann started it all with a phone call
in the fall of 1979.
“Larry, have I got a business for you!” she
said, and I was excited until the moment she
said it was wood stoves. But after we learned
how economically they could heat people’s homes,
we jumped in with a lot of enthusiasm. (And a
lot of prayer.) Within two months we had our
first tiny store. We didn’t sell much that first
year, but we learned a lot and boy did we have
fun.
Thirty-one years later, we’ve grown into five
superstores, selling more woodstoves, hot tubs and
outdoor furniture than anyone else in the
country. Best of all, my son Jon and daughter
Jennifer are a big part of Rich’s. Jon runs our
corporate operations and Jennifer and my wife
Marianne plan the yearly redesign of all our
stores so the latest products are always on
display.
And we’re proud to have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
But Rich’s isn’t about us, it’s really about
you; and making your home or backyard a haven,
an escape, a place where time slows down just a
bit and priceless memories are created.
Sure, we sell stoves, hot tubs,
barbecues & grills,
outdoor furniture, and they’re all top-notch
quality, but those things are just a means to an
end. Our true business is to bring families and
friends together in their home or backyard, and
make them a little more comfortable while
they’re doing it.
